Teaching comics making and actually doing it can be two different things although it seems that you actually apply what you learn onto paper. The thought of "Just Do It", to a student, it may seems like throwing them into the sea and expect them to float! When you lectured the concept of comics and its elements, it is like throwing in bits and pieces of articles and expect them to built a raft or sort so that they can sail across the sea of uncertainty. Many students will give up eventually (if they were given other choices) when they really have to face themselves, because most people do not like their vulnerable self to be seen. But this vulnerable self of us is what makes a comics story humane.
